Beloved Wine Series Returns with Two New Expressions of Ontario’s Best

The Grange of Prince Edward Winery is thrilled to announce the return of its Almanac Series, a collection that captures the unique character of each growing season. After a complete rebrand, the series returns with two exceptional new wines—
Almanac Red and Almanac White—that showcase the best of Ontario winemaking at an accessible price.

The Almanac Series has always been about celebrating variety and possibility. By combining grapes from The Grange’s 40-acre estate vineyard with carefully selected fruit from trusted partner vineyards across Ontario, winemaker Jonas Newman creates blends that tell the story of each vintage.

“There’s a whole other world of vineyards and varietals out there,” Newman explains. “Bringing Almanac back as a winemaker gives me the opportunity to work with really great fruit that isn’t in our vineyard every year. I can cherry-pick what I want from different farms—and express the vintage that way.”

The series takes its name and inspiration from vintage farmers’ almanacs of the 1930s-1950s, with packaging that honors this agricultural heritage. Each bottle’s back label provides a detailed snapshot of the growing season, including rainfall data and lunar cycles—connecting wine lovers directly to the conditions that shaped their wine.

As the label proudly states, each bottle contains a “100% Accurate Vinified Taste Of The Summer.”

“Year over year, blends will change, cherry-picking the best I can from the year as the vintage progresses,” says Newman. “Every year’s going to be a little bit of a horse race: What’s good? What’s happening? That makes it super fun for everybody in the cellar—and super fun to drink.”

INTRODUCING THE 2024 RELEASES
2024 Almanac White, $13.94 CAD
Riesling and Chardonnay Blend
Bright citrus notes of Meyer lemon and lime zest lead the way, joined by ripe orchard fruit, delicate florals, and a touch of waxy honeycomb. The palate is fresh, lean, and effortlessly playful, with a light, elegant texture. Bright acidity carries through to a beautifully crisp finish, making this an ideal wine for warm weather enjoyment.

2024Almanac Red, $15.71 CAD
Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Gamay Blend
An expressive nose unfolds with rich mocha, fragrant bay leaf, dark plum, and dried cherry bark, complemented by hints of licorice root and salted taffy. Despite its complex aromas, bright acidity and a lighter body make this blend surprisingly approachable and easy to drink. It’s a wine that balances sophistication with everyday enjoyment.
